Baby’s now the size of a plum!
As you move into the second trimester, baby shifts into the growth and maturation stage. After weeks in the critical development stage, almost all of her systems are fully formed.

Week 12 - Plum

How far along:  12 Weeks
Maternity clothes:  None, I now have a rubber band on my jeans button.
Total weight gain:  1 lbs
Sleep:  I am so tired by 9:00. I am passing out by 9:30.
Best moment this week:  Jason whispering to my belly, “It’s not morning.”, trying to make to morning sickness go away.
Movement:  None yet. It’s hard to tell if what I feel is gas or baby. Right now I’m attributing it to the former.
Food cravings:  Nothing out of the ordinary this week.
Food aversions:  Vegies still don’t taste good. I’m forcing down carrots and spinach because I know I need the nutrients.
Gender:  What do you think it will be?
What I miss:  Coffee. I’m still making it every morning for Jason so I get to smell it and long for it.
What I am looking forward to:  Getting out of the first trimester. Second Trimester, here I come!
Milestones:  I must have blinked but the size of the baby just doubled in the past two weeks. What will the weeks to come bring?

HEADACHES! Yowza! The headaches have been really bad this week. They are a roller coaster of intense pain and nothing. The only thing I can do is rub my temples and hope it goes away. One problem with that is that I was rubbing so much that my forehead is now bruised; nothing visible, just tender. I hope next week will be better.
