3rd Annual Apple Pumpkin Party Review

October 29, 2007

Pumpkins… Masks… Swimming… Chocolate. What more can I say? There was a lot going on at the 3rd Annual Apple Dipping and Pumpkin Carving Party yesterday. I hope everyone that was able to join us had a great time.

All the kids working hard at their pumpkins. The party started with little ones waking up from their naps. Grandma fed them some real food (since we knew they would indulge in chocolate later). After that, they created some pretty interesting masks. Jacob and Trenton both picked the Cat mask and Elizabeth picked the Green mask. After a bit of gluing they each had wonderful creations.

Then the pumpkin carving started. Grandma removed the innards of Jacob’s pumpkin and cleaned it for him while Brianna cut the lids for Trenton’s and Hannah’s pumpkins. Trenton prefered to remove the guts with his hands and the girls carfully used a scoop. They each created very imaginative Jack-o-Lanterns.

Come on in! The water's fine! After carving was completed, they all decided take a brisk swim. Luckilly Grandpa turned on the spa because he knew they wouldn’t last long in the pool. Once it got dark, all the kids realized the chocolate fountain was running and they all went inside to stuff themselves silly with Chocolate covered marshmallows, graham crackers, pineapple, kiwi, apples, chips…. yes, even chips. Everything was covered in chocolate by the time it made it to their mouths.

The pumpkinsWhile all the kids were getting sick on chocolate, Grandpa was busy judging the pumpkins. Finally the Awards Ceremony could commence. Grandpa dispensed the prizes, awarding Hannah with the “Cutest Pumpkin”, Trenton with the “Funniest Pumpkin”, Tabitha with the “Most Detailed”, and Jacob with the “Scariest Pumpkin”. Elizabeth and Courtney didn’t have pumpkins but received prizes anyways. All the kids loved their prizes.

Thank you to Grandma and Grandpa for your hard work and for letting us leave you with a messy house. I hope the 4th Annual Apple Dipping and Pumpkin Carving Party will be just as much fun as this one.

Be sure to check out all the pictures in the Photo Gallery.
