Pictures from Alaska are up!

September 20, 2009

Thank you for waiting so patiently. The pictures from Alaska are up in the Gallery! There are over 900 pictures so you can understand why it took so long to go through them all. I hope you all enjoy them!

Getting there and on the Cruise
This album has all the random images of us on the cruise. Roaming around the ship, at dinner, views from our balcony, etc. It also contains pictures of our travels to get to Alaska and cruising through Glacier Bay!

Ketchikan
In Ketchikan we went to Totem Bight State Park and roamed around the city. It was neat to learn about totem poles. Our guide in the park was great at telling stories!

Juneau
In Juneau, we went to the Mendenhall Glacier. We hiked around as far as we could go, even on trails that shoudn’t even be called trails! We got as close as we could get to the glacier without swimming. ( And even then we wanted to go further!) It was okay we didn’t get to touch it because we got to walk on another glacier when travelling to Copper River.

Skagway
In Skagway we took the White Pass Scenic Railroad. We all had a lot of fun onthis excursion. Lots of great sights, not having to walk to see them, and the fun of the train!

Travelling on Land
This album shows all of our travellings on land. Between lodges we traveled by catamaran, bus and train. There are also pictures of us going home from Alaska.

Copper River
We stayed at the Copper River Princess Wilderness Lodge for two nights and didn’t have anything planned. We really needed these days. They were very relaxing.
We ended up traveling into town, visiting the National Park Visitor Center(Wrangell-St. Elias), and going on a small hike. It was still pretty relaxing even with these little trips.

Dinali National Park
Denali was beautiful! This was a great place to see caribou, grizzly bears, moose, and other animals.
We took a bus excursion into Denali National Park and photographed a lot of wildlife.
The momma grizzly bear and her two cubs was great to see as close as we did.

Fairbanks
Fairbanks was a lot of fun. Our excursion was a Sternwheeler Riverboat Cruise and a trip to the El Dorado Gold Mine. Both were a great way to spend the day.

One thing I still need to get finished is adding titles to all these images so you know what they are all of. I will get to that as soon as I have a chance. It will probably get done little by little. Enjoy all the pictures!!
